Snowmen

24 ott

It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas activities. :) And it’s not too early either to start collecting white plastic bottle caps for this little and easy craft… snowmen to hang on our Christmas tree!

Another Christmas decoration idea: popsicle stick Christmas trees: click HERE

It’s very very quick and easy, and allows lots of variations on the theme. The Cub Scouts may also try to sell them around to raise a little money (Christmas charity project, maybe?)

You’ll need:

plastic bottle caps in 2 different sizes

ribbons

acrilyc paint markers

beads, buttons, whatever you want

1) make a loop in a piece of ribbon, so you’ll be able to hang the snowman on the tree.

Glue (with hot glue gun) the ribbon on the front of the caps. The smaller will be the snowman’s head, and the big one will be its body.

2) Decorate your snowman as you like.

I painted the nose as an orange carrot, then used beads to simulate buttons. Glitter is always lovely so I added some to the borders with glitter glue :)

(you may also make little beads with aluminium foil, use spray glitter, add cardboard hats or felt scarves…)

Do you like them? Are you crafting these with your children/ scouts/ students? Let me know!! :)

ps: check out Inspire Me Heather, she is having an awesome giveaway! :)

Great minds think alike. My son and I made some sort of like this that I am going to share in a series of Christmas ornaments. We filled them with cotton balls first thought, so they are a bit differetnt. I love yours. I would love for you to share at my weekly linky. Fri-monday come strut your stuff.
