These bracelets are so easy to make, and require so little material: just twine and a few little beads. I chose twine over jewelry cord, to give them more of a natural look.
Isn’t this a perfect activity for a relaxing summer camp? 🙂
Their name is “wish bracelets” because you are supposed to give them as a present to your friends: they can make a wish, and when the bracelet falls off, the wish will come true. Will this happen? Sometimes it’s nice to believe in such stuff 🙂
3 twine scraps, 15 inches long
liquid super glue
scissors and tape
1) Secure 3 pieces of string to the table with tape. Shey should be long about 15 inches. Then start braiding them.
2) Braid for about 4.3 inches. Then start braiding in the beads by feeding the bead onto the middle strand and then tightly braiding the other two strands around it. I fed on 9 beads.
3) After using all the beads you need, go back braiding the strings the normal way, about 4.3 inches, so the proportions stay right. (you may want to choose different lenghts if the bracelet is for a child)
4) Knot both ends of the bracelet. Trim the excess string.
A drop of super glue will prevent the knots from unlashing.
Your bracelet is done!
Make them in many colors!
Wear them all togherer this spring and summer!
See you soon!
